Hannah Cheung

Hannah Cheung received her Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene and Biology from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (UNC) in 2017. As a clinical dental hygienist, she witnessed the negative impact of inaccessible treatment for vulnerable patients. Understanding that policy and practice go hand in hand, she went back to UNC to pursue her Master's in Public Health and Master's in Dental Hygiene Education with the goal of one day bringing innovative solutions that improve patient health outcomes and leverage the dental hygiene profession. As a graduate student, she directed a Dental Health Education course, taught clinical skills to 1st and 2nd year dental hygiene students, and completed a policy internship analyzing the benefit of a bundled payment system in NC schools. In her previous role, she worked as a clinical research project manager implementing research studies into the healthcare system. She is now the Health Sciences Specialist at CareQuest Institute for Oral Health where she works on research development and data acquisition on their Analytics and Data Insights Team. In her personal time, she enjoys making candles, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new restaurants and cities.
